Frankie Delano is de rechterhand van maffiabaas Angelo Allighieri. Wanneer zijn baas vermoord wordt door een oude vijand, vlucht Frankie naar het huis van Angelo's dochter, Jennifer, in de overtuiging dat zij het volgende doelwit zal zijn. Er is echter één probleem: het meisje in kwestie weet niet dat de overleden maffiosi haar vader was, omdat zij al op vroege leeftijd ter adoptie was afgestaan. Frankie heeft Angelo voor zijn dood beloofd om zijn enige dochter te beschermen, en met tegenzin laat Jennifer hem in haar leven toe. Maar na een mislukte aanslag in een warenhuis begint de ernst van de situatie tot Jennifer door te dringen. Vanaf dat moment weet ze dat ze alleen in leven kan blijven door haar vijanden een koekje van eigen deeg te geven...
