Kate en Humphrey zijn twee jonge wolven die een fijn leventje hebben bij hun ouders en roedel in het bos. Kate is een erg aanwezige wolvin die alles tot in de puntjes geregeld wil hebben. Niets ontgaat haar nauwkeurige visie. Humphrey leeft meer van moment tot moment en doet het vooral rustig aan. Dan worden de twee jonge wolven gevangen genomen door parkwachters en ver van hun vertrouwde omgeving vandaan gehaald. Kate en Humphrey ontsnappen, maar staan er plots helemaal alleen voor.
