Dokter Richard Thorndyke wordt aangesteld bij het Psychoneurisch Instituut voor de zeer, zeer nerveuzen. Hij ontdekt dat er iets niet in de haak is. Hierom wordt hem een moord in de schoenen geschoven. Om zichzelf van alle blaam te zuiveren moet hij zijn eigen neurose overwinnen: High Anxiety. De film is een hommage aan de films van Alfred hitchcock en bevat vele parodien op beroemde Hitchcock films.
Nee, helaas is High Anxiety nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
