Als het lot de verveelde muziekleraar JJ samenbrengt met de vrienden Naoise en Liam Óg, blijkt dit het begin van een ongekende Ierse hiphopact. Rappend in hun moedertaal breekt het rebelse raptrio Kneecap in Belfast door en worden ze al snel het boegbeeld van een burgerrechtenbeweging die als doel heeft de Ierse taal te redden. Terwijl de discussie hierover in de publieke arena losbarst, doen politie en politici hun uiterste best het anarchistische trio de mond te snoeren.
