Eind 19e eeuw: een jonge man verlaat Ierland met de dochter van zijn landheer, en ze dromen van een stuk land in Oklahoma. Wanneer ze in het nieuwe land aankomen vinden ze werk en beginnen ze te sparen. De man wordt een bokser, en heeft veel succes tot hij een keer verslagen wordt.
