Langs de Afrikaanse kust lijden Lord Clayton en zijn vrouw schipbreuk en komen in de jungle terecht, waar enige tijd later Lady Clayton een zoon zal baren. Na de dood van zijn ouders meet de jonge Clayton, die is opgevoed tussen de apen, zijn intelligentie met die van zijn omgeving. Hij wordt een volwassen jongeman, door de apen geselecteerd als hun leider.
Nee, helaas is Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
