Het is jaren geleden sinds de voormalige soldaat JJ, die nu als CIA-agent werkt, bevriend raakte met de negenjarige Sophie. Inmiddels is ze een tiener en ze weet JJ over te halen om haar schoolkoorreisje naar Italië te begeleiden. Daar worden ze beiden echter ongewild pionnen in een internationaal terroristisch complot. De baas van JJ, David Kim, en diens zoon Collin, de beste vriend van Sophie, lopen hierdoor in gevaar.
