Wanneer zijn verloofde Becky nee zegt tegen zijn huwelijksaanzoek, en daarmee tegen het huis dat hij voor haar heeft gebouwd, neemt de architect Newton Davis dat slecht op. Enige tijd later loopt een avontuurtje met de fantasierijke serveerster Gwen uit de hand, wanneer zij zijn droomhuis opspoort, en er zonder dat hij het weet intrekt.
