Officier van Justitie Tom Logan is in de running voor een bevordering, wanneer hij in aanraking komt met advocate Laura Kelly en haar onvoorspelbare cliënt Chelsea Deardon. De diefstal van een waardevol schilderij lijkt de minste van haar misdaden, maar wanneer Logan door de beide vrouwen overtuigd wordt om op onderzoek uit te gaan, ontvouwt zich een geheimzinnige zaak.
