Tijdens WO I krijgt de Britse Luitenant T.E. Lawrence de opdracht de Arabieren te steunen in hun gevecht tegen de Duitsgezinde Turken. De Brit slaagt erin de genegenheid te winnen van de Arabieren en in het bijzonder van prins Feisal. Er ontstaat een bijzondere vriendschap tussen deze twee eigenzinnige leiders.
