Terwijl zijn vrouw Hélène op 13 november 2015 naar een concert in het Parijse Bataclan Theater gaat, blijft Antoine thuis met hun zoontje van anderhalf jaar oud. Die avond ontvouwt zich een enorme tragedie: door toedoen van islamitische terroristen komen Hélène en 88 anderen om het leven. Antoine's leven komt volledig op zijn kop te staan, maar hij weigert haatdragend te reageren op de terroristische daden.
