Koning Lodewijk XIV regeert het Franse volk met harde hand. Van de beroemde Musketiers die zijn vader gediend hebben staat alleen nog D'Artagnan aan zijn zijde. De andere drie Musketiers komen met een plan om van de koning af te komen, maar daarvoor hebben ze de hulp nodig van een gemaskerde gevangene uit de koningskerkers.
