Midden jaren '70 is Ron Burgundy San Diego's populaire nieuwslezer, met alle aangename privileges die dat met zich meebrengt. Samen met zijn nieuwsteam bestaande uit sportman Champ 'Whammy' Kind, 'roving reporter' Brian Fantana en weerman Brick Tamland vormen zij het Channel 4 News Team en worden door de kijkers aanbeden als goden. Totdat de leiding van het station vindt dat er een verandering moet komen en de vrouwelijke journalist Veronica Corningstone aan het team wordt toegevoegd.
Nee, helaas is Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
