De vermeende dood van prins Arunmohzi Varman gaat als een schokgolf door het Chola-rijk heen. Prins Aditha Karikalan gaat verblind door woede op het oorlogspad, wat hem steeds dichter bij een confrontatie met zijn ex-geliefde Nandini brengt. Zij sluit ondertussen nieuwe allianties om het complot om de keizer van de troon te stoten te bewerkstelligen. Wat echter niemand weet, is dat Varman ternauwernood aan de dood ontsnapt is.
