Valeria is met haar echtgenoot Raúl in blijde verwachteing van een eerste kind. De zwangerschap verloopt echter stroef. Valeria is erg onzeker en leeft in grote angst. Ze is getuige van visioenen en andere bovennatuurlijke verschijnselen, die het werk blijken van de entiteit 'La Huesera'. Om aan deze dreiging het hoofd te bieden, proeft ze opnieuw van het zorgeloze leven dat ze leidde, maar voor Raúl heeft opgegeven. Ze komt weer in contact met haar eerste liefde Octavia.
