Toen Mio jong was, verloor ze haar ouders in een grote overstroming en raakte ze ook gescheiden van haar beste vriend Noe. Daarna vond Mio haar talent in koken en werd uiteindelijk kok. Inmiddels is Noe een oiran (hooggeplaatste courtisane) geworden.
