1943: Eady is een danser in een club in New York, Andy Mason een sergeant met verlof. Zodra ze elkaar ontmoeten, is het liefde op het eerste gezicht, maar het is oorlog in Europa en Andy moet terug naar het front. Ze ontmoeten elkaar op een feestje om zijn terugkeer te vieren.
