Scholiere Ellie vindt de rebelse Abbie leuk. Graag zou ze Abbie mee uit willen vragen. Ze bedenkt een plan maar ineens verschijnt Tara, de geest van Ellie’s overleden lesbische tante. En Tara,een activistische lesbienne in de jaren 80 komt met nogal wat ongevraagd maar goedbedoeld advies en hulp.
Nee, helaas is Ellie and Abbie (and Ellie's Dead Aunt) nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
