Het Baskenland in het jaar 1609. Terwijl de mannen op zee zijn, trekt de jonge Ana naar het bos waar ze met de andere dorpsmeisjes een feest houden. De groep wordt echter gearresteerd op bevel van de rechter Rostegli, die de regio wil 'zuiveren'. De vrouwen worden verhoord over de zogenaamde Akelarre, een heksensabbat.
Nee, helaas is Akelarre nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
