De wijk Malasaña, Madrid, Spanje, 1976. Terwijl politieke onrust de straten door het hele land teistert, arriveert de familie Olmedo in de grote stad en vestigt zich in hun nieuwe appartement. Ze ontdekken al snel dat zij niet de enigen zijn die door de gangen dwalen.
