De tiener Hatzin trekt vanuit Mexico City naar het noorden. Zijn doel is het lichaam van zijn vader op te halen dat in een massagraf werd teruggevonden. Een toevallige ontmoeting met een man die als twee druppels water op zijn vader lijkt, doet Hatzin echter twijfelen. Hij wordt meegezogen in de immigratiewereld.
