Een universiteit in Whiton komt in de problemen wanneer een online spelletje voor een schandaal zorgt. Een steratleet wordt op de campus vermoord teruggevonden, waarna zijn zus Ellery op zoek gaat naar antwoorden. Intussen zet de gemaskerde dader zijn slachtpartij voort. De ene na de andere student wordt op gruwelijke wijze vermoord.
