De koning van Bratenberg heeft de arme Tommi naar zijn hof gedeporteerd om voortaan de slaaf te zijn van zijn verwende zoon prins Boris. Als Tommi hoort dat zijn zus onschuldig gevangen zit, ontsnapt hij samen met prins Boris om haar te redden. Onderweg vallen de twee jongens in de klauwen van twee gemene schurken.
