Het is niet vreemd dat de strijdkrachten van de Demon Lord bang zijn voor de Crimson Demons, de clan waaruit Megumin en Yunyun voortkomen. Zelfs als de generaals van de Demon Lord hun dorp aanvallen, kunnen de Crimson Demons ze eenvoudig wegjagen met hun ultieme beheersing van geavanceerde en overweldigende magie. Wanneer Yunyun een ogenschijnlijk ernstige brief ontvangt over een mogelijke ramp die haar geboorteplaats zal treffen, informeert ze Kazuma Satou en de rest van zijn gezelschap onmiddellijk. Na een reeks gekke misverstanden blijkt het slechts een grap te zijn van haar mededemon die auteur wil worden. Toch maakt Megumin zich zorgen over haar familie en vertrekt ze met de bende richting het dorp van de Crimson Demons. Daar besluiten Kazuma en de anderen de wonderen van Megumins geboorteplaats te bezoeken. Ze komen echter al snel tot het besef dat de onzinnige dreiging die ze ontvingen misschien wel meer was dan alleen een grap.
