Omar en Pete zijn halfbroers die door hun grootmoeder zijn opgevoed nadat hun ouders werden gedood door leeuwen. Als hun grootmoeder overlijdt, worden de jongens in huis opgenomen door familieleden van Pete's tante. Het is al snel duidelijk dat ze Omar niet aardig vinden. Als Omar een brief van zijn oma vindt, waarin ze over zijn biologische vader schrijft, besluit hij hem op te zoeken. Samen met Pete en de as van hun oma reist Omar naar de kuststad Blackpool. De enige aanwijzingen die ze hebben is een geboorteakte en een oude foto van hun moeder met de man die Omars vader zou kunnen zijn.
