Beiroet, Libanon, 2018. De elfjarige Palestijnse Wardi woont met haar hele familie in het vluchtelingenkamp waar ze is geboren. Haar overgrootvader Sidi was in 1948 een van de eersten die in het kamp ging wonen nadat hij uit zijn huis was gejaagd. Op en dag geeft hij Wardi de sleutel van zijn huis in Galilea, wat haar doet vrezen dat hij zijn hoop ooit weer terug te keren heeft verloren. Als ze daarnaar op zoek gaat, krijgt ze in het kamp de getuigenissen van haar diverse generaties familieleden te horen.
