Plot

Wanneer William Gridley arriveert in Londen huurt hij een een gedeelte van Carly Hardwicke's huis en wordt verliefd op haar. Gridley weet echter niet niet dat veel mensen denken dat ze haar man heeft vermoord, maar zijn baas, de Amerikaanse ambassadeur, weet dit en vat dit nogal zwaar op. Als Gridley Carly voorstelt aan zijn baas weet hij zijn baan te behouden en en er wordt prompt een detective op de zaak gezet. Als de twee besluiten om mee te helpen, is dit het begin van een hoop problemen.
