De jonge violiste Rose erft na de dood van haar beroemde vader en componist Richard het oude herenhuis waarin hij zijn jaren sleet. Daar ontdekt ze het laatste werk waaraan hij werkte, een mysterieuze partituur vergezeld met vreemde symbolen. Met de hulp van haar agent Charles ontcijfert ze het document en onthult ze de geheimen omtrent Richards verleden.
