Nadat haar moeder stierf verliep de relatie tussen Mary en haar vader Walt en haar zus Robyn stroef. Tegenwoordig is Mary alcoholist en heeft ze steeds meer moeite om haar verslaving voor haar omgeving te verbergen. Wanneer ze wordt opgepakt wegens rijden onder invloed van alcohol en terugkeert naar haar thuis in Niagara Falls, leert ze dat haar vader aan kanker lijdt en stervende is.
