Midden jaren 80. Drie vrouwen, ieder met hun eigen advocaat, arriveren bij het kantoor van entertainmentmanager Morris Levy. Alle drie claimen ze de weduwe te zijn van de overleden doo-wop singer-songwriter Frankie Lymon, en alle drie claimen ze recht te hebben op de opbrengsten van zijn muziek. Tijdens de rechtszaak die hier op volgt zien we via flashbacks hoe de relatie tussen de vrouwen en de aan heroïne overleden zanger was.
