Willie Joy (Frankie Howerd) werkt als knechtje bij een hondenrenbaan. Nadat hij ontslagen is koopt hij een renhond in de hoop er geld mee te verdienen. Zijn aankoop blijkt echter een afgedankt exemplaar te zijn, waardoor hij behoorlijk in financiele problemen komt. In zijn ijver om de hond op te lappen met medicijnen, raakt Willie tevens verwikkeld in een doping-schandaal.
