Rikka zit nu in haar laatste jaar van de middelbare school, maar ze heeft nog steeds chūnibyō. De toelatingsexamens voor de universiteit staan voor de deur, dus Yūta en Rikka moeten zich er in de voorjaarsvakantie op voorbereiden. Op een dag kondigt Tōka, de oudere zus van Rikka, aan dat ze om professionele redenen naar Italië moet verhuizen. Ze besloot echter ook om Rikka mee te nemen. Hoewel Yūta haar redenen begrijpt, wil hij niet gescheiden worden van degene van wie hij houdt. Shinka stelt voor dat hij met haar wegloopt en zo begint de grote ontsnapping van Yūta en Rikka door heel Japan.
