Dilsher is een ambitieuze jongen uit Gurdaspur die na de dood van zijn vader niets meer met muziek te maken wil hebben. Hij groeit op met een spraakstoornis en stottert. In Delhi, waar hij op zoek is naar een beter leven, leert hij de mooie zangeres Amira kennen tijdens een muziekshow. Aanvankelijk aarzelt Dilsher om weer te gaan zingen, maar Amira brengt hem op andere gedachten en haalt hem over het toch te proberen.
