Gebaseerd op Ntozake Shangs bekroonde werk, bestaande uit een reeks van twintig gedichten uitgevoerd door een groep van zeven onbekende vrouwen die ieder herkenbaar zijn door een individuele kleur. De gedichten behandelen onderwerpen als liefde, verwaarlozing, verkrachting en abortus. Op het einde komen de vrouwen samen, waarbij ze de krachten van het vrouw-zijn aanroepen.
Nee, helaas is For Colored Girls nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
