Ethan Inglebrink (Ronnie Gene Blevins) woont in een klein stadje, genaamd Blythe in Californië. Ethan is een excentrieke drugsverslaafde, met een obsessie voor zijn tuin, wiens einde langzaam nadert. In de laatste dagen van zijn leven wil hij er het beste van maken en wanhopig probeert hij daarom met pokeren geld te verdienen, om zijn tuinhobby en drugsgebruik te kunnen bekostigen.
