Nadat zijn baas door een hartaanval het leven gelaten heeft, is Pike vastbesloten om de opbrengst van de veeverkoop veilig naar een boerderij in Mexico te brengen, zoals hij beloofd heeft. Onderweg naar Mexico moet Pike met vele belagers afrekenen, maar hij maakt ook kennis met enkele hulpvaardige mensen.
