Plot

De vriendelijke amateurdetective Tom Lawrence - ook bekend als Michael Arlen's literaire held The Falcon - arriveert in Hollywood voor wat rust en ontspanning, maar raakt betrokken bij de moord op een filmacteur. Er is geen tekort aan verdachten: de kostuumontwerper met wie hij getrouwd was, een tirannieke regisseur, een mooie jonge Franse ster, een Shakespeare-citerende producent, zelfs een New Yorkse gangster. The Falcon wordt geholpen de misdaad op te lossen door een schattige, bijdehante taxichauffeur en een paar stuntelige agenten.
