De film is gebaseerd op de roman ‘Tomorrow, When the War Began’en gaat over een felle invasie en bezetting van Australië door een buitenlandse mogendheid. Een groepje tieners besluit te gaan kamperen in de vrije natuur. Als ze terug naar huis keren, blijkt hun land in oorlog te zijn met een vreemde mogendheid. We volgen door de ogen van Ellie Linton (Caitlin Stasey) hoe het groepje een guerillaoorlog uitvecht met de vijand die hun stadje Wirrawee heeft ingenomen.
Nee, helaas is Tomorrow, When the War Began nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
