Het is het jaar 2100 en de mensheid heeft de aarde verlaten. Een kolonie van extravagante zeewezens leeft nog steeds in de diepte van de oceaan. Deep, een avontuurlijke octopus, is de laatste van zijn soort en leeft in de diepte met zijn twee vrienden Evo, een betweterige en onhandige armvinnige, en Alice, een neurotische garnaal.
