De 28-jarige promovendus Omar Razaghi van de Universiteit van Kansas wint een beurs om een biografie te schrijven van de Latijns-Amerikaanse schrijver Jules Gund. Omar moet doordringen tot drie mensen die dicht bij Gund stonden - zijn broer, weduwe en jongere minnares - zodat hij toestemming kan krijgen om de biografie te schrijven.
