Nicole Sims bezoekt regelmatig de disco The Zoo, en hoopt zelf ooit een ster te worden. De film volgt gedurende een vrijdagavond een aantal personages die een bezoek brengen aan deze disco, waar die avond een optreden van The Commodores gepland staat. Daartoe moeten echter wel de instrumenten op tijd aanwezig zijn.
