Een groep flamenco dansers repeteert het beroemde Carmen van Prosper Merimee. Antonio (de choreograaf) wordt verliefd op Carmen (de sterdanseres). Hun verhaal begint synchroon te lopen aan het stuk en langzaam zijn spel en realiteit niet meer van elkaar te onderscheiden.
