Bij toeval ontdekt Dagwood Bumstead een niet brandbare verf. De criminelen Joe Dillon en Harry Stack stelen deze verf nog voordat Dagwood die aan zijn baas George M. Radcliffe kan geven. Om met zijn uitvinding te pronken schildert Dagwood Radcliffe’s huis, maar tot zijn schande brandt dit huis af.
