De boerenjongen Jonas ontmoet zijn nieuwe buurmeisje, Casey, en is direct verliefd. Als de liefde opbloeit ontdekt Jonas al snel dat Casey misbruikt wordt thuis. Jonas besluit te samen met haar te vluchten en steelt een zak vol drugsgeld van haar corrupte vader, de lokale agent Wayne Caraway.
