Een jong stel, Alex en Scarlett, maakt op weg naar een nieuw leven in Los Angeles een tussenstop in een slaperig stadje. Wanneer Scarlett plotseling verdwijnt gaat Alex op zoek naar haar. Als hij de volgende ochtend wakker wordt blijkt hij opeens met iemand anders getrouwd en een ander leven te leiden.
