Een Amerikaanse schrijver gaat naar een afgelegen landhuis in Wales met een weddenschap van $20.000 dat hij binnen 24 uur een klassieke roman als 'Wuthering Heights' kan schrijven. Bij zijn aankomst ontdekt hij echter dat het schijnbaar lege landhuis een aantal nogal vreemde bewoners heeft.
