Een opstandige jongen uit de stad vlucht samen met zijn chagrijnige pleegoom de wildernis in van Nieuw-Zeeland. Wanneer de twee verdwalen in de bossen moeten de twee hun meningsverschillen opzij zetten om te overleven. Een nationale klopjacht wordt georganiseerd om het duo te vinden.
