Sandy heeft ernstig te lijden onder de scheiding van zijn ouders en verweert zich door extra brutaal te doen. Tijdens de zomervakantie gaat hij logeren bij zijn oom Porter, een hippie-achtige visser. Sandy redt het leven van een jonge dolfijn, die doodgeschoten dreigt te worden door 'n stelletje schurken.
