Erik (Per Oscarsson) weet nog net zijn testament op te stellen voor hij bij een bizar ongeluk om het leven komt. De dorpsadvocaat weet zijn kleindochter Fanny (Helena Bergström) op te sporen in Duitsland, zijn laatste familielid. De kleindochter en haar vriend Zac (Rikard Wolff) treden op in nachtclubs en hun komst zet het dorpje op stelten. Vooral de houthandelaar, die gehoopt had het terrein te verkopen.
