Tijdens een trip met hun camper nemen Dana, Kevin en Rita een op het eerste zicht goedhartige lifter mee. Deze lijkt al snel iemand te zijn die van psychologische spelletjes houdt. Langzaam manipuleert hij het gezin tot vandalisme en moord. In een fatale confrontatie zal het gezin één lijn moeten trekken en als één blok moeten handelen tegen Eric.
